Questions about the Podcast
Jenkins stated that the energy installation area is equivalent to the combined size of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. Additionally, the solar farms cover an area equivalent to the combined size of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The question arises: why is this area so vast?
Ezra pointed out that one of the criticism of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is its abundance of standards. These standards, added to an already challenging task, decrease the likelihood of successful achievement. However, the standards are important things such good jobs, geographic equality and revitalizing communities in need. A crucial question emerges: what would be the balance between benefiting the community and achieving the goals outlined for 2050?
Syllabus
I read the syllabus and found the section on solar energy to be interesting to me. In a beginning, I was unaware of the section on kinetic energy, but I am pleased that we are learning about it. These concepts can be applied in our daily lives, allowing us capture energy from every movement, such as biking, walking, or working out. I am curious about which kind of motor would be more effective for this purpose: a regular DC motor or a stepper motor?
